This meeting held by the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene will provide an important and valued opportunity for colleagues within all fields of tropical medicine and global health to network, update knowledge and share scientific expertise and will attract over 300 microbiologists, consultants in infectious disease, general physicians, infection control nurses and biomedical and clinical scientists.The 2015 meeting celebrates 40 years of Topics in Infection and to mark this we are inviting some speakers to include a retrospective element in their session, reflecting on what progress has been made, if any, in their disease area, how the current challenges and opportunities compare with those of four decades ago and what the next forty years might bring.
