Screening of “Remote Area Medical” by the Global Health Film initiative at the Royal Society of Medicine on July 3rd at 18:00.
The film follows the non-profit, volunteer driven medical organisation that provides free health care to people in remote areas of the United States and around the world.
The founder of Remote Area Medical, Stan Brock, will be joining us from the United States to discuss universal access to healthcare. Leigh Daynes, Executive Director of Doctors of the World, will be discussing the situation in the UK, with a focus on the implications of the Immigration Act 2014 and the planned extension of charges and its effect on vulnerable populations accessing healthcare.
