DOTW is working with the Ministry of Health and local partner Northern Rangelands Trust (NRT) in northern Kenya, to improve access to primary healthcare for remote and isolated communities. Some of the families we are working with live 80km away from their nearest health facility, and face journeys of 3-5 days on foot to reach urgent medical attention. DOTW is therefore working to develop a coherent outreach programme, to bring primary healthcare to remote communities.
They are looking for an energetic and committed volunteer, with a background in public health and experience of programme management, to conduct a primary healthcare assessment, and provide a concrete set of recommendations on improving access to primary health for remote communities. The ideal candidate will be comfortable designing health data collection and analysis tools; conducting complex context and needs assessments; writing analytical health reports with public health recommendations; and building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.
They are looking for someone available for an initial commitment of 3 months, with the possibility of an extension, starting from September 2017.
Flights, accommodation, insurance, and food allowance will be covered by DOTW.
Deadline: midnight Sunday 4th June
