What is The CHAIN Network? The CHildhood Acute Illness and…

Clinician / researcher post on malnutrition in Malawi.
I am circulating this request on behalf of Robert Bandsma and Wieger Voskuijl for post based at the College of Medicine, Blantyre Malawi in case you know of anyone interested.

We run quite a large clinical-nutrition research program at the Department of Pediatrics at the College of Medicine (Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital) in Blantyre Malawi. Specifically, our program aims to improve the short- and long-term outcome of hospitalized malnourished children. We are part of a large international research network (CHAIN: www.chainnetwork.org).

We aim to recruit a full-time clinician-investigator for a period of at least 2 years. Ideally, we would like to recruit a paediatrician with experience in clinical research in low resource settings. Clinicians with experience in child health but who have not fully completed their Residency in Paediatrics are also eligible.

This new colleague would be responsible for supervising clinical care of malnourished children and co-manage a wonderful research team of ~12 full time Malawian staff. In addition to co-leading this team with Robert Bandsma and Wieger Voskuijl, there is plenty of opportunity to develop his/her own research skills and expertise.
