Enhancing Learning and Research for Humanitarian Assistance (ELRHA), on behalf of DFID and the Wellcome Trust, invites you to a townhall event to mark the launch of the first Call for Proposals under our Research for Health in Humanitarian Crises (R2HC) programme.
R2HC is a ground breaking new collaboration between the UK Government’s Department for International Development (DFID) and the Wellcome Trust aiming to support world class research into public health interventions in humanitarian disasters. The objective of this programme is to strengthen the evidence base underpinning public health interventions in humanitarian contexts to improve health outcomes, enrich humanitarian practice, and facilitate closer collaboration between researchers and practitioners.
The first R2HC Call for Proposals will be officially opened in early June and launched through a series of townhall meetings around the world:
London, UK 5th June
New York, USA 12th June
Delhi, India week commencing 8th July (tbc)
Nairobi, Kenya 18th July
Agenda

Afternoon: Participants will have the opportunity to engage in discussions on potential focus areas for research and collaboration.
This event will be most relevant for professionals in the public health research and humanitarian fields who may be interested in applying for research programme funding or seeking to build partnerships between researchers and practitioners.
