March for Mothers – Saturday 29th June

March for Mothers will take place on Saturday 29th June – take part, and contribute to improving maternal health for women in the world’s poorest communities.

Health Poverty Action has teamed up with Medact for this 5km family walk around Greenwich Park. By registering for the event and joining us for a fun morning out, you can help ensure women across the world and in the world’s poorest communities receive the healthcare they need to give birth safely to a healthy baby.

Why March for Mothers? 800 women die every day from preventable causes related to pregnancy and childbirth, often because women find themselves a long way from the nearest health centre. For example in northern Sierra Leone a third of women have to walk over 5km (which is why we ask you to join us in walking this distance).

Location: Greenwich Park, SE10 8QY

Time:  Saturday 29 June, 10a.m.

Route: The route is suitable for all ages and is ideal for pushchairs. View the route map here.

Cost to take part? £15 Adults, £5 Children

All participants receive a goodie bag as a thank you for joining Health Poverty Action and Medact.
